Product serial numbers and identifiers may constitute personal information when associated with a user account.

When you use the Service, we may automatically collect:

• Usage logs and interaction data
• Cookies and similar technologies

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
• Identify and catalog user-owned products
• Extract product information from uploaded images
• Automatically register products with manufacturers on your behalf
• Validate warranty registrations by reading manufacturer confirmation emails (when you grant email access)
• Manage user accounts and authentication
• Improve system performance and reliability
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud or misuse
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Use of Artificial Intelligence and Third-Party APIs

SnapRegisters uses third-party artificial intelligence services to process user-uploaded images for the limited purpose of extracting product information (such as text or serial numbers).

• User data is not used to train AI models
• Data is transmitted securely to AI service providers
• Processing is limited to performing the requested service
• AI providers are contractually restricted from using data for unrelated purposes

4. Your SnapRegisters Inbox

SnapRegisters does not connect to or read your personal email account. Instead, we provide each account with a dedicated SnapRegisters inbox address (e.g. reg-…@snapregisters.online). When our automation registers your products on manufacturer websites, it uses this address so that account-verification and warranty-confirmation emails are delivered to a mailbox we operate on your behalf.

How We Use It

• Detect account-verification emails so automated product registration can complete
• Extract warranty details (start date, expiry date, coverage type, confirmation number) from confirmation emails
• Forward a copy of each received email to your account email address so you stay fully informed
• Link the extracted data to the corresponding registered product in your SnapRegisters account

What We Will NOT Do

• Access, read, or store the contents of your personal Gmail, Outlook, or other email accounts
• Request OAuth access to your email provider
• Share inbox content with third parties (other than the AI processing described in Section 3)
• Access your contacts, calendar, or other account data

Control

Your SnapRegisters inbox address is shown in your Settings. Emails received there are processed to support product registration and warranty tracking, and forwarded to your account email. Deleting your account removes your inbox address and associated stored email data, subject to the retention terms in Section 5.

5. Data Storage and Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including:

• Encryption in transit and at rest
• Restricted access controls
• Secure hosting infrastructure
• Periodic security reviews

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take commercially reasonable steps to protect your information.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to:

• Provide the Service
• Comply with legal obligations
• Resolve disputes
• Enforce our agreements

Users may delete product data or close their account at any time.

7. Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal information.

We may share information with:

• Service providers (e.g., hosting, AI processing, analytics)
• Legal authorities when required by law
• A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale

8. User Rights (United States)

Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights to:
